PUBLIC WORKS |
PUBLIC WORKSYou rely on the Spearfish Public Works Department every time you take out the trash, drive to work, turn on the water, or flush the toilet. We make sure that snow is plowed, streets are swept, potholes are patched, streets are signed, and traffic lights are working. We ensure that your trash is collected and disposed of properly. We keep the sewers flowing and the wastewater treatment plant running to protect our waterways. We maintain 175 acres of Park land and 750 acres of the Lookout Mountain Conservation District. In short, “We Keep Spearfish Running.” The Public Works Department mission is to provide quality services to the Spearfish community with pride, courtesy, integrity, reliability, and commitment. We put Spearfish first. The Public Works Department maintains and oversees the following departments: Building Inspection, Buildings & Rentals, City Campground, Cemetery, Engineering & Floodplain, Hydro Plant, Parks & Forestry, Planning & Zoning, Recreation, Sewer, Solid Waste, Storm Water Info, Streets, Snow Removal, Water, and Waste Water Treatment.
The Finance Office and Public Works now accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
